::Ahem::

So, yeah.

It’s been like, six-ish months since I last blogged. I know I suck. But here’s what’s been happening…

  • I lived through a Duluth, Minnesota, winter (which was, surprisingly, very much like a West Virginia winter…though I hear we were spoiled by the mild weather here).
  • Jeff and I became ‘Facebook official.’
  • I fell in love with Jeff’s family.
  • Wrote a novella titled Red Inside, which drops July 23, 2024. You can pre-order the eBook on Amazon now!
  • I also wrote a short story for Edward Lee’s new anthology, Erotic Horror for Horny Housewives. It’s called “Burp the Worm,” and it’s as outlandish and pervy as you’d expect from me.
  • Jeff and I went to AuthorCon 3 in Williamsburg.
  • I finally met Bryan Smith!
  • Published Poisoned Pink, which brought together What the Fuck Was That? and Sweet, Sour, & Spicy beneath one very cool Chad Lutzke cover.
  • We visited my family in West Virginia, as well as our friend, Richard Dansky, in North Carolina.
  • I hired an artist to design a ‘Bridgett Nelson Horror’ logo and started an imprint for my self-published work called Threat Pose Press.
  • We welcomed my daughter to Duluth for three weeks (spread over two separate visits). During the first visit, Autumn and I battled a gnarly stomach bug. It royally sucked. I think she’d agree.
  • Relaxed at the lake cabin in Wisconsin.
  • I got to see the northern lights for the first time last December.
  • Met Joe Konrath and his lovely wife, Maria.
  • Jeff and I attended a book fair, Spooky Frog, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and hung out with Justin & Ali Holley and Jay Bower. I also got to meet John Everson, Brian Pinkerton, Christopher Hawkins, and Bill Gagliani, which was a nice treat.
  • Picked out, purchased, and made endless preparations for our ball python girl, Indie. We’ve had her since the end of April. Trying to get her tank’s temps and humidity perfect has been an ongoing struggle, but we’re getting there. It’s kind of amazing just how much I already love that noodle-face.
  • Got divorced.
  • I also discovered just how awful it is to be a full day’s drive away from my son when he’s taken to the emergency room.
  • Watched TONS of movies.
  • Jeff and I have both dedicated more time to reading. I love sitting on one end of the couch, while he sits on the other, as we read the same book and discuss our thoughts.
  • Got the six holes in my ears re-pierced.
  • We’ve spent lots of time with our Minnesota friend, and avid horror book collector, H Michael Casper.
  • I visited the Mall of America with Jeff and Autumn.
  • Jeff and I bought a new Kia Sorento…and it’s green, my favorite!
  • Met up with fellow Minnesotan, Heather Ann Larson, for lunch and had a great time.
  • We drove to San Antonio for the Ghoulish Book Festival, where I participated on the ‘Horny Horror’ panel.
  • Jeff drove me through THREE new states – Oklahoma, North Dakota, and South Dakota!
  • Had a blast signing books at Gardner’s Used Bookstore in Tulsa.
  • I’ve loved every single minute I’ve cohabitated with Jeff.

Life is very, very good. I promise I’ll be back soon! In the meantime, be naughty, my loves! (I’ve included a few photos, taken in 2024, for your enjoyment.)
